World of Mother and Child Organization
WMCO works across Afghanistan to deliver maternal and child health services, education, and protection — building stronger communities one family at a time.
Who we are
Established in 2012, WMCO is an Afghan women-led, child- and returnee-focused non-governmental and community-based organization. We partner with communities, health professionals, educators, humanitarian agencies, and donors to deliver sustainable programs for vulnerable women, children, IDPs, returnees, and underserved communities across Afghanistan — spanning health, nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, WASH, and emergency response.
Vision
An Afghanistan where women, mothers, children, adolescents, and vulnerable communities have equitable access to quality healthcare, nutrition, education, protection, shelter, WASH, and livelihoods — and the opportunity for safe, dignified, and prosperous living.
Mission
Empower mothers, children, and vulnerable communities through integrated, evidence-based health, nutrition, education, protection, livelihoods, and humanitarian programs that strengthen local capacities, promote resilience, and create lasting, measurable impact.
Values
Accountability, community ownership, equity and inclusion, transparency, dignity and respect, a child-centered approach, women’s leadership, evidence-based programming, and sustainable impact.
